Are you looking to develop your portfolio and meet inspiring world-class artists?
ART-I-CULATE is a digital experiential programme for 40 young aspiring artists from the UK and 5 ASEAN countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The aim of the programme is to champion cultural understanding and art-centred digital innovation between ASEAN and the UK.
Participants will be provided access to high-quality digital series of art masterclasses, cultural dialogue, and a three month-long cross-cultural collaboration which equips participants to boost their portfolios whilst weaving long-lasting relationships.
At the end of the programme, artworks will be featured in a digital art exhibition which will be accessible to the wider audience globally. The artworks will also be published via an e-book, showcasing participants’ enhanced artistic and technological know-hows, collaborative synergy and transformative cultural understanding of Southeast Asian and British arts and culture.

21 Mar 2021 - Opening Ceremony and Masterclass #1: Colours of the Future 10am-12pm UK | 6pm-8pm Malaysia
This masterclass shall discover the technical artistry of creating visual masterpieces. Led by two esteemed artists, we shall be giving a curated workshop to share techniques, accelerate the participants' creative process and mindset, and inspire the young artists through explorative future-driven breakout sessions.
4 Apr 2021 - Masterclass #2: Creating Dialogues through Art 10am-11:30am UK | 6pm-7:30pm Malaysia
This masterclass shall nurture the creative confidence of participants by using technology and other forms of medium for expression. Invited esteemed facilitators will enable young artists to develop artistic ways to participate in an interactive dialogue and also expand their artistic know-hows to better express cultural heritage and togetherness through visual arts.
18 Apr 2021 - Masterclass #3: Deep-diving into the Shared & Unique Creative Identity 10am-11:30am UK | 6pm-7:30pm Malaysia
This masterclass shall enable each participant to articulate their cultural heritage, uniqueness as a creative human being and share their hopes and ambitions to pursue their creative endeavors for the future.
2 May 2021 - Masterclass #4: Creative Collaboration and Cultural Diversity Exploration 10am-11:30am UK | 6pm-7:30pm Malaysia
This masterclass shall enable participants to engage and expand the creative horizons of the collaboration pairs to share and instil ideas of how other cultures can enable one’s growth mindset development. They will also get immersed in the celebration of cultural diversity and cross-cultural collaboration.

Applicants must meet the following requirements and submit further documents:
Be between 14-21years old at the start of the programme
Be based in any of the following countries:
ASEAN: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam
UK: England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, British Isles
Confirmation of availability to attend all events (please kindly refer to the programme outline below)
Submission of sample artwork, 10MB max - Please note that plagiarised entries will result in an automatic disqualification
For applicants under 18 yrs old: submission of parental / Guardian Consent via electronic signature
Access to a computer, internet connection and Zoom platform.
Girls from less privileged backgrounds, young people with disabilities and those who hold refugee status are highly encouraged to apply.
